June reading wrap up
The books I read in June:
The Q (6.8.26)
Emma M Lion #1 (audio) (6.12.26) (reread)
A Study of Shattered Spells (6.15.26)
Emma M Lion #2 (audio) (6.21.26) (reread)
Before We Were Yours (6.27.26)
I won’t complain about my reading for June but it also wasn’t what I’d hoped it would be. I’m hoping I’ll be able to do more reading this summer now that I’m happily unemployed.
I read The Q and it was truly an INCREDIBLE book. I highly recommend it. I haven’t found an author that I’ve loved as much as Beth Brower in a long time. She is a phenomenal writer and anyone who hasn’t read her books yet is truly missing out. My mom made this comment after finishing her trilogy: (paraphrased) “The problem with reading her books is that all other books just kinda feel mediocre after her’s.” And I think that sums it up well. She writes wonderful characters, wonderful arcs, and her writing style is just wonderful.
I will probably do a whole post on Emma M Lion sometime in the future so I won’t say too much now but just do yourself a favor and go either read or listen to this series. You won’t regret it.
A Study of Shattered Spells. I didn’t enjoy this book so I’m not really going to say much about it because I don’t like talking negatively about books, especially ones by new christian authors. A lot of people like this book so if you’re interested I recommend reading it and forming your own opinion. It just wasn’t a great one for me personally.
Before We Were Yours was INSANE. One of the ladies at church loaned it to me and said it was really good. She was not wrong. It was gut wrenching, it was awful, and it was incredible. Highly recommend reading this one. It was about an event in history that I was horrified to have never heard about before.
Super happy to have had a month of mostly 5 star reads and here’s to hoping I get more read in July! God bless you all and I pray you have a wonderful 4th of July weekend!
